Segment tool
Published on
Overview
The Segment tool divides the map into visual segments—such as gradients or heatmaps—based on selected metrics (price indices, risk scores, classifications), enabling users to quickly identify patterns and hotspots across an area.
Entity
A segmented map view is defined by:
-
Metric Layer
The data field driving the segmentation (e.g., price per sq.m, flood risk)
-
Segment Units
Discrete buckets or continuous gradients representing value ranges
-
Geographic Extent
The area over which the segmentation is applied (community, master project, custom polygon)
Instrument Features
-
Gradient & Heatmap Overlays
Render continuous color scales for metrics like price indices or population density
-
ABC Classification
Apply categorical segmentation (A/B/C) based on infrastructure class or developer ratings
-
Custom Buckets
Define your own value ranges and colors for precise categorization
-
Interactive Legend
Click or hover on legend items to highlight corresponding areas on the map
-
Dynamic Thresholds
Adjust segmentation cut-offs on the fly to explore how different ranges affect the visualization
